Sasha Sunday '19 - Women's Soccer

WALTHAM, Mass. – Women’s soccer junior Sasha Sunday of Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, has been named the September 12 Brandeis Athlete of the Week, presented by The Chateau Restaurant Group. This is the first Brandeis Athlete of the Week honor presented for the 2017-18 season.

Sunday helped the Judges, ranked No. 6 in Division III by the United Soccer Coaches in the preseason, to a pair of wins last week by scoring both game-winning goals. She scored in the 71st minute of a 2-0 win over Bridgewater State University on September 5. On September 9 at Wentworth Institute of Technology, Sunday scored in the 102nd minute to break a scoreless tie. The goals were the fifth and sixth of her career and the first two game-winners. Sunday also leads the Judges with two assists this season.

Brandeis will play two more road games this week, traveling to Eastern Connecticut State University on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. start and Johnson and Wales University on Saturday for a 1 p.m. kickoff.

This is the third year of the Brandeis Athlete of the Week program presented by The Chateau Restaurant Group. The Athlete of the Year Program highlights a top Brandeis student-athlete who has had an outstanding athletic achievement from the week prior.  Each selected student-athlete will be featured on the Brandeis athletics homepage and inside the Chateau Waltham and Jake N Joes
