Michelle Kim, entering her fifth season as head coach of the
Brandeis University volleyball team, has guided the Judges to
back-to-back ECAC Division III New England Championships. Kim was
appointed head coach of volleyball in the summer of 2004 after five
seasons as an assistant under Sheryl Sousa.
A 1996 graduate of Binghamton University, Kim served as an
assistant for two years at Stony Brook University before joining
Sousa on the Brandeis staff in 1999. In that time, she helped lead
the Judges to a 108-84 record over the past five seasons. The squad
has made four ECAC tournament appearances in that time, including a
27-15 record and a berth in the ECAC finals in 2003, tying the
school record for wins in a season.
As a player under Sousa from 1993-96, Kim was a four-year starter
and two-year captain. She helped Binghamton to its first-ever
conference title and NCAA appearance, reaching the New York
Regional semifinals.
Kim, who also serves as Brandeis's business manager, is a member
of the American Volleyball Coaches Association who serves as a
representative in the New England Women's Volleyball Association
regional poll.
