WALTHAM, Mass.- Brandeis University seniors Kate Warwick of Boxborough, Mass., and Chris Brown of North Chelmsford, Mass., have been selected as University Athletic Association (UAA) Indoor Track and Field Runners of the Week for the week ending Feb. 12 after their performances at the Boston University Valentine's Invitational last Friday and Saturday.
Warwick, competing in the 5,000-meter run, placed 10th overall, sixth among collegiate runners and second among Division III competitors for Brandeis's best performance of the meet. Her time of 17:03.44 was 17 seconds faster than her previous season- and lifetime-best in the event. She owns the fastest time in the UAA this season and the fourth-fastest in Division III. This was her second UAA Runner of the Week honor of the 2011-12 indoor season.
Brown, who was honored as UAA Runner of the Week for the third time this season for his performance in the mile run. Brown was 21st overall with a time of 4:05.98. He finished 13th among collegians and second among Division III runners at the meet. Brown's time was just under two-and-a-half seconds better than his previous lifetime best and ranks him first in the UAA and third in all of Division III this season.

The top 13 men and 15 women in the NCAA rankings in each event will be selected. For Brown, it would be his fourth appearance at NCAAs, having made three trips to the Division III cross country championships with the Brandeis men from 2008 to 2010, while Warwick qualified for the NCAA cross country championships as an individual in 2011.
