Brandeis softball headed to ECAC Tournament Championship Round
The Judges defeated Suffolk, 10-5, and Southern Maine, 8-0. Leah Shapiro and Cori Coleman each had a 4 RBI game, and Nikki Cote allowed just five hits and one unearned run in nine innings with 11 strikeouts.

The Judges scored 10 runs in the fourth inning of game one, boosted by a Maddie Sullivan grand slam, and held on for a 10-9 win. The Beavers came back with a 9-1 win in the nightcap.

The Judges defeated Rochester, 8-1, in the consolation semifinals, but lost to #21 Case Western Reserve by the same score in the fifth-place match. Carley Cooke went 3-1 in the two matches, the final two dual matches of her career.

In the prelims of the 200 and 400-meter dashes, rookie Haliana Burhans advanced to tomorrow's finals. The Judges scored their only points of the day in the 4x800-meter relay.

Softball gets Senior Day split with Bowdoin
The softball team posted a dramatic comeback against Bowdoin in game two, 6-5, after dropping the opener, 9-0. Before the game, the Judges honored five seniors - Cori Coleman, Nikki Cote, Amanda Genovese, Anya Kamber and Tasha Quiroz.

The Judges gave up six runs in the first three innings, but couldn't quite get over the hump against the Scots. Nick Falkson had three RBI in five plate appearances, with a single, two sacrifice flies and two walks.

Thanks to more than five hours of rain delays, the women's tennis team UAA opener against WashU started at 9 am and ended around 7:30 at night, thanks to three-set matches at 1 and 2 singles.

On April 7, Brandeis baseball coach Pete Varney earned his 700th career win, making him the fourth Division III coach from New England to reach the plateau. Some of his former players, now coaches themselves, talked about their experience playing for Coach V.
