All classes are held in the Gosman Dance Studio (located on the bottom level) and are open to the entire Brandeis community. No advance sign-up is necessary. Just drop in! (*Sign-ups and fees are required for group cycling. For information, please visit the group cycling webpage.) .

Class Descriptions

 

Ab Blast

In this 30 minute class, we will focus on training our stomach and back muscles to tone the abdominal core and increase overall balance and strength.

Bootcamp

Bootcamp is a combination of cardio combos, strength conditioning, and interval training that will keep you on your toes.  The variety of moves incorporating partners, weights, and obstacle courses will keep your workouts exciting and challenging.  The different routines will help strengthen all major muscle groups, giving you a total body workout.

Cardio Kickboxing

Burn fat and have fun with this kick-butt, high-energy class that incorporates martial arts and boxing. You will learn stances, punches, kicks, and defensive skills. This class will focus on you upper and lower body muscular endurance to create an intense cardio workout that will make you sweat like you've never sweat before.

Kickboxing

Burn fat and have fun with this kick-butt, high-energy class that incorporates martial arts and boxing to create an intense cardio workout that will make you sweat like you've never sweat before.

Guts, Butts & Thighs

Core training utilizing the body's weight; incorporating abdominal, leg, and hip exercises. Firm, define, and tone the mid & lower areas of the body.

Luscious Legs & Arm Candy

A jam packed, high intensity workout great for fat burning and cardio conditioning. The aerobic choreography that’s alternates from high and low impact movements focusing on the legs, arms, and abdominal work. Choreography will include kickboxing, step, and a zumba like moves. Continuous movement to great music keeps the heart rate up to achieve those luscious legs and arm candy.

Muscle Pump

This muscle conditioning class focuses on sculpting and strengthening the entire body while building muscle and endurance.  Through the use of free weights, resistance bands, and stability balls participants will get a full body workout.

Pilates Sculpt

A strength building class in which participants use their bodies as tools to build strength and muscular endurance.

Power Yoga

A unique yoga practice based the synthesis of Yogic tradition and intuition. Power Yoga heals, detoxifies and exhilarates the body and mind with emphasis on movement, balance and intention. Power Yoga emphasizes breathing to connect and quiet the mind and body. This is a dynamic class which combines strength, flow,and spirituality.

Step Aerobics

This low-impact cardio class uses an elevated surface to give your body an extra push.  The choreography is easy to learn and the workout can be challenging for all fitness levels.

Step/Sculpt

This hour long class will use a combination of step aerobics and sculpting moves to target all areas of the body and make it stronger.  We'll use an elevated surface as well as free weights and our own body weight to define our muscles and get our heart rates up. This class is great for all fitness levels. 

Total Body Toning

An hour-long strength training class targeting all muscle groups. We will focus on training each part of the body for a portion of the class using a variety of exercise equipment.

Vinyasa Flow Yoga

Vinyasa Flow requires the coordination of breathe with movement, a practice that turns stationary yoga postures into a dynamic sequence and flow.

Zumba

Dance-based aerobics using up-tempo Latin music styles such as salsa, cha-cha, reggaeton, mambo and merengue. The routines feature aerobic interval training with a combination of fast and slow rhythms. It targets areas such as the glutes, legs, arms, and abdominals.
