Michelle Kim, entering her sixth season as head coach of the Brandeis University volleyball team, was appointed head coach of volleyball in the summer of 2004 after five seasons as an assistant under Sheryl Sousa. As head coach, she has led the Judges to three ECAC Tournament apperances, including back-to-back titles in 2006 and 2007.

A 1996 graduate of Binghamton University, Kim served as an assistant for two years at Stony Brook University before joining Sousa on the Brandeis staff in 1999. In that time, she helped lead the Judges to a 108-84 record. The squad has made four ECAC tournament appearances in that time, including a 27-15 record and a berth in the ECAC finals in 2003, tying the school record for wins in a season.

As a player under Sousa from 1993-96, Kim was a four-year starter and two-year captain. She helped Binghamton to its first-ever conference title and NCAA appearance, reaching the New York Regional semifinals.

Kim, who also serves as Brandeis’s business manager, is a member of the American Volleyball Coaches Association who serves as a representative in the New England Women’s Volleyball Association regional poll.
