WALTHAM, Mass. - Brandeis University rookie golfer Aaron Cusato of San Diego, Calif., has been selected as the University Athletic Association Golfer of the Week for his performance ending the week of Oct. 5.
Cusato, a rookie, finished second out of 63 golfers at the Elms College Blazer Invitational on Oct. 1. He shot a three-over par 73, as the Judges came in eighth out of 16 teams. Cusato also placed 19th out of 85 golfers at the ECAC Division III New England Championships at Tunxis Plantation Golf Course in Farmington, Conn. His 77-75-152 (+12) helped the Judges finish in sixth place, while their 298 on the second day of competition was the fourth-best of the tournament and the best single-day score in school history.
Overall this season in five events for the Judges, Cusato has finished in the top 20 in all five, with two top-10 finishes and one top-five. His 74 at Elms was the third-lowest round for the Judges this season.
Cusato is a 2008 graduate of Point Loma High School. He is the son of Stephen and Elisa Cusato, San Diego, Calif.
