Brandeis golfers finish tied for 12th at the Lou Flumere Invitational
STOW, Mass. - The Brandeis University golf team finished tied for 12th place in the Lou Flumere Invitational which was held at the Stow Acres Country Club. The field consisted of 20 other golf teams and 100 total players in a one-round tournament.
Brandeis sophomore Charles Sacks (Phoenix, Ariz./Jess Schwartz) finished his round with a team-best 81 placing him tied for 25th. He shot a 42 on the front nine and a three-over 39 on the back. Senior Aaron Hattenbach (Santa Monica, Calif./Santa Monica) was two strokes back of Sacks as he finished the day with an 83 (+11). Sacks and Hattenbach were followed by junior Lee Bloom (W. Hartford, Conn./Loomis Chafee) and senior Ralph Harary (Cotuit, Mass/Barnstable) who both had rounds of 85 (+13). Sophomore John Parcellin (Danvers, Mass./St. John's Prep) rounded off the group with a 26 over which placed him in 93rd place.
The Judges finished with a combined score of 334 (+46) on the day placing them tied for 12th alongside Babson and Franklin Pierce. Salem State took the victory as their team shot a 302 (+14) which was 12 strokes better than second-place Nichols College.
Brandeis will compete at the Johnson and Wales Invitational on April 18 and 19 for a two-day tournament.
