STOW, Mass. - The Brandeis University golf team finished tiedfor 12th place in the Lou Flumere Invitational which washeld at the Stow Acres Country Club. The field consisted of20 other golf teams and 100 total players in a one-roundtournament.
Brandeis sophomoreCharles Sacks (Phoenix, Ariz./Jess Schwartz)finished his round with a team-best 81 placing him tied for25th. He shot a 42 on the front nine and athree-over 39 on the back. Senior Aaron Hattenbach(Santa Monica, Calif./Santa Monica) was two strokes backof Sacks as he finished the day with an 83 (+11). Sacks andHattenbach were followed by junior Lee Bloom (W. Hartford,Conn./Loomis Chafee) and senior Ralph Harary(Cotuit, Mass/Barnstable) who both had rounds of 85(+13). Sophomore John Parcellin (Danvers, Mass./St.John's Prep) rounded off the group with a 26 over whichplaced him in 93rd place.
The Judges finished with acombined score of 334 (+46) on the day placing them tied for12th alongside Babson and Franklin Pierce. SalemState took the victory as their team shot a 302 (+14) which was 12strokes better than second-place Nichols College.
Brandeis will compete at theJohnson and Wales Invitational on April 18 and 19 for a two-daytournament.
