Golf improves four spots to finish sixth at ECACs

FARMINGTON, Conn. -- The Brandeis University golf team improved four places on the second day of action to finish in sixth place at the ECAC Division III New England championships. The Judges improved by 21 strokes with a 298 on the second day of action, the fourth-lowest team round at the championships, held at Tunxis Plantation Golf Course in Connecticut.

The Judges were led by sophomore Lee Bloom (West Hartford, Conn.), who fired a one-over-par 71, improving by seven strokes to finish in a tie for ninth place with a cumulative score of 149. Rookie Aaron Cusato (San Diego, Calif.) also cracked the top 20 with a score of 77-75-152 (+12), tying with two other players for 19th place.

Sophomore Charles Sacks (Phoenix, Ariz.) was the team's third scorer, shooting 78-75-153 (+13) to finish in a tie for 22nd place, while sophomore Daniel Goldsmith (Herlizya Pituach, Israel) showed the team's biggest improvement on Day Two, shaving 10 strokes off his score to finish at 87-77-164 (+24), tied for 53rd.
