PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Brandeis University junior golfer
Lee Bloom (W. Hartford, Conn.) earned his second
medalist honor of the season today, shooting three-over-par at the
Rhode Island College Invitational at Triggs Golf Club in
Providence. Bloom helped the Judges tie for third place
overall.
Bloom tied with Shawn Santos of Nichols College, shooting a 75, but
Bloom prevailed on the second hole of sudden-death to earn the
second win of his career. Bloom played the par-three holes at
two-under par, tops in the field. His previous win came at the
Bowdoin Invitational earlier this year. The Judges' other three
scorers also placed in the top 20. Senior Ralph
Harary (Cotuit, Mass.) and sophomore Charles
Sacks (Phoenix, Ariz.) - who had one of two eagles in the
tournament - were part of a three-way tie for 14th place with
rounds of 81, while rookie Aaron Cusato (San
Diego, Calif.) tied for 17th with an 83.
