WALTHAM, Mass. - The Brandeis men's basketball team will be headed to Williamstown, Mass., for the 2010 NCAA Division III Tournament sectional rounds. There will be a fan bus available, departing Brandeis on Friday at 1:30 p.m. and returning immediately following the game. Tickets for the bus cost $25 and are available in the Gosman Athletic Center offices on a first-come, first-serve basis. There is limited space of 47 seats, and the fee includes tickets to the game. If Brandeis wins, there will be another fan bus available on Saturday, departing at 2:30 p.m. Only cash will be accepted.
If you can't make it to Williamstown in person, you can follow the contest several ways. As usual, the radio crew from WBRS, 100.1-FM, will be broadcasting the game over the airways and on-line at http://www.wbrs.org. The game will also be videocast, courtesy of the NCAA at http://all-access.cbssports.com/player.html?code=ncaa, and Williams will be providing LiveStats at http://livestats.prestosports.com/williams/. Game notes for the contest are now posted as well.
Brandeis and Rhode Island College have met only seven times previously, but two of those meetings have come in the NCAA tournament. The Judges defeated the Anchormen, 94-84, in the very first Division III tournament in 1975, while RIC earned a 70-67 victory in Providence in 2007, when the current crop of seniors were rookies. Last season, the two squads met in the regular season, with Brandeis taking a 75-61 win in Red Auerbach Arena.
