Sophomore Julian Cardillo is in good shape for his second-straight berth at the NCAA championships, while junior Mike Zook came from the 33rd seed to finish in the top 10 in the Northeast at the championship meet held at Boston College.
Rookie saber Jess Ochs-Willard was one of four Brandeis fencers to post six wins at the 2012 Beanpot tournament, where the Judges avenged a loss to BC, 15-12, and defeated MIT, 17-10, while falling to No. 3 Harvard, 22-5. The women went 0-3 at the tournament.
The Brandeis men edged Dartmouth, 14-13, and posted easy wins over Tufts (21-6) and Vassar (17-10). Both the saber and foil squads went 4-1, with rookie Noah Berman and sophomore Julian Cardillo combining to go 17-5 in foil
Six standout athletes whose careers spanned the first half-century of Brandeis’ sports history will be inducted into the 14th class of the Joseph Linsey Brandeis Athletic Hall of Fame during ceremonies on March 31 in the Gosman Sports and Convocation Center on campus, Director of Athletics Sheryl Sousa ’90 and Friends of Brandeis Athletics (FOBA) President Jim Leahy '85 announced.
