Men's soccer ties Carnegie Mellon 0-0

Pittsburgh, PA -- Brandeis University battled Carnegie Mellon to a 0-0 double overtime draw in a University Athletic Association (UAA) match.

Brandeis (8-8-3, 0-5-1 UAA) had a last minute scoring opportunity in regulation time as sophomore Stephen Kostel (New Hyde Park, NY) tried to slot a one time shot past an oncoming Carnegie goalkeeper who managed to just make the save. A second chance to take the lead, and win the game came for the Judges in the 2nd overtime half when senior captain Evan Duval (Wilbraham, MA)beat a defender inside the 18 yard box only to put the ball inches wide. Brandeis goalkeeper Taylor Bracken (No. Andover, MA) finished the game with a total of 4 saves in net.

Carnegie Mellon (9-4-2,0-4-2 UAA) was denied their one chance to win in the last minute of regulation time as a headball from Dan Brackley (Hamilton, N.J.) found the back of the net, but only to be called back due to offsides. Tartans goalkeeper Matthew Bazin (Mountain Lakes, N.J.) finished with 5 saves.

The Judges wrap up the regular season Saturday November 3rd at 11:00 against UAA rival NYU.
