Tyler Savonen scored for the fourth game in a row and the Judges outshot the Hawks, 20-4, to move onto the third round for the second year in a row. Brandeis will face Williams in the Sweet 16 for the second year in a row at a site to be determined.
The Judges scored twice in the first five minutes, and again early in the second half to take the wind out of Johnson and Wales's sails. Michael Soboff (G, 2A) and Tyler Savonen (G, A) starred for Brandeis.
The Judges (14-4-1) will take on Johnson & Wales (14-1-6) on Saturday, November 16, at 5 p.m., followed by Rutgers-Newark (17-5-1) and Roger Williams (15-5-2) at 7:30 p.m. The winners will meet on Sunday at 5 p.m.
