Liu rallies relay teams, but Brandeis falls short to Keene State 156-137
WESTON, Mass. - Despite a pair of wins from senior James Liu (Longmeadow, Mass. /Longmeadow) and sophomore Marc Eder (Princeton, N.J. /Lawrenceville), the Brandeis men's swimming and diving team could not overcome Keene State. The Judges dropped a 156-137 decision to the Owls.
Liu captured the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:47:95 and the 50-yard freestyle in 22.80. He also teamed up with Eder, freshman Daniel Danon (Istanbul, Turkey), and senior Justin Wellins (Canyon County, Calif. /Canyon) in a first place effort in the 200-yard medley relay, with a time of 1:40.18. Eder was victorious in the 200 yard breaststroke (2:16:92) as well as the 200 yard IM (2:06.60). The Judges relay team consisting of sophomore Josh Allgaier (Ambler, Pa./Hatboro-Horsham), senior Jesse Hershman (Hamden, Conn. /Hamden), along with Liu and Wellins, took first place in the 400-yard freestyle relay with a time of 3:20.50. Anchoring the relay teams was Liu who came from behind in each event to capture the wins.
