Melissa Dubay enters her fourth season on the Brandeis softball coaching staff. As a member of the 2010 University Athletic Association Coaching Staff of the Year, Dubay helped guide the Judges to their first-ever NCAA tournament berth in her first year in the coaching ranks.

Dubay joined the staff in 2010 the Brandeis coaching staff on the heels of an illustrious career at Boston University (BU) where the Auburn, Wash., native started every game (219) of her four-year career at shortstop. As a senior, Dubay capped off her brilliant collegiate career by helping BU to its seventh America East conference crown and its first appearance in a NCAA regional final in 13 years, as the Terriers lost in the final round of the NCAA Division I College World Series Atlanta Regional. Along the way, the 2009 BU team achieved the single-season record for wins (43), hits (453), doubles (83), and stolen bases (94).

Dubay’s 2009 class finished as the winningest class in BU softball history. For her individual efforts over the four years combined, Dubay left her mark on the Terrier record book with career offensive records for RBI (tied for first with 128), hits (third with 207), triples (in the top 10 with 11), homeruns (third with 23), and stolen bases in a season (second with 29). Dubay was also a three-time (2007-09) America East Championship All-Conferece selection as well as a 2009 America East Championship All-Tournament Team honoree in her time at BU. As a junior in 2008, Dubay made the Louisville Slugger Northeast Second Team and was twice honored as East Coast Conference Player-of-the-Week.

Dubay has spent a significant amount of time coaching at several levels including the 2009 14U Washington Sidewinders Competitive Select Softball Team in addition to assisting with her high school team once her college season had concluded.

Coach Dubay graduated as a double major with a degree in History with a concentration in American History as well as a degree in American Studies. She minored in Sociology. Coach Dubay currently resides in Boston, Massachusetts.
