After getting two straight days of games washed out because of rain, the Brandeis softball team finished the UAA schedule with a record of 5-3. Thanks to the pitching of senior Emily Vaillette (3-2, 1 SV, 0.66 ERA) and the hitting of sophomore Brittany Grimm (.400 BA, 2 2B, 3 HR, 8 RBI), the Judges placed second in the conference, their best finish since 1999.

The Brandeis softball team posted their highest UAA win total since 2003 with four games still to play today, as the Judges defeated Rochester, 8-0, and Case, 11-0, to move to 3-1 in the conference. Junior 2B Melisa Cagar went 3-4 with three runs and four SB in the opener, while rookie DH Stacey Berg was 3-4 with five RBI, a double and a homer in game two.

The Brandeis softball team dropped its UAA opener, 3-1, to Emory, but the Judges bounced back to hand seventh-ranked Washington University a 9-6 loss, their first of the season. The Bears are the defending UAA champions. Melisa Cagar and Brittany Grimm each went deep in the win over WashU, while rookie Stacy Berg homered vs. Emory.
