Brandeis fencing finishes 22nd at 2013 NCAA Championships
Rookie Caroline Mattos picked up one win on the final day of action to place 23rd in women's foil. The Judges' 19 points were 22nd among 25 schools, while sophomore Adam Mandel's 12th-place finish in men's sabre was second among Division III fencers.

Winning three of the six team weapon titles and a pair of individual crowns, the Brandeis fencers defended their home turf of the Gosman Center. Rookie Caroline Mattos was the runner-up in the women's foil competition.

The Judges were paced once again by rookie foil Caroline Mattos, who went 8-1. The Judges fell to #8 Harvard and MIT, but defeated BC, 15-12, to avenge a loss from earlier in the season.

Rookie foil Caroline Mattos and senior sabre Zoe Messinger were each 11-4 on the afternoon as the Judges split their six matches at MIT. The highlight was a 15-12 win over UAA rival NYU.

The Judges picked up 8-1 victories in foil and saber while edging the Blue in epee, 5-4. Rookies Emilia Dwyer and Annette Kim each went 3-0 in foil action.
