Women's tennis opens Florida trip with 8-1 win over NAIA Webber International

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Brandeis University sophomore Rachel Rosman (Bonita Springs, Fla./Estero) did not drop a game today as she led the Judges women's tennis team to an 8-1 victory over NAIA Webber International University in Orlando, Fla. The win kicked off a four-match Southern trip for Brandeis, who improves to 3-1 overall, while WIU falls to 1-2.

Rosman teamed with senior Gabrielle Helfgott (Newton, Mass./Noble & Greenough) for an 8-0 win at No. 1 doubles, then posted a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 1 singles. Rosman's classmate Mackenzie Gallegos (Friendswood, Texas/Friendswood) dropped just one game, teaming with junior Ariana Sanai (Hopewell Junction, N.Y./John Jay) for an 8-0 win at No. 2 doubles and winning 6-1, 6-0 at No. 4 singles. Sanai posted a 6-2, 6-0 win at No. 3 singles, while Helfgott earned a 6-1, 6-3 win at No. 2. Junior Emily Weisberger (Wayne, N.J./Wayne Hills) took a 6-1, 6-1 decision at No. 5 singles and teamed with rookie Davida Judelson (Woodbridge, Conn./Hopkins School) at No. 3 doubles for an 8-2 victory.

The Judges take on another NAIA foe tomorrow in Palm Beach Atlantic University.
