LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- The Brandeis women's tennis team got off to a nice start to their spring campaign today with a 6-3 win over Cal Lutheran University in California. The 30th-ranked Judges improved to 2-0 on the season thanks to the top of their singles lineup, as the first through third spots dropped just four games between them.

Sophomore Alexa Katz (Philadelphia, Pa./Abington Friends) took a 6-2, 6-4, decision at No. 6. Brandeis also cruised in the top two doubles matches against the Regals, as Broderick and Cooke won, 8-2, at No. 1, and Katz and senior Nina Levine (Westport, Conn./Staples) were 8-1 victors at No. 2.
