Selig tops the field as women's x-country tops Bentley

WALTHAM, Mass. - Brandeis University sophomore Grayce Selig (Narberth, Pa.) was the individual race winners today as the Brandeis women's cross country team defeated Bentley College at Weston High School. The Judges were 20-41 victors.

Selig, competing in her first collegiate cross country meet won the four-kilometer race with a time of 15:27. She was followed closely by sophomore Marie Lemay (Saco, Maine). Bentley senior Melissa Nash (Marshfield, Mass.) had the top finish of the day for either Falcon team, coming in third with a time of 15:35. Brandeis's Alyssa Pisarik (Chelmsford, Mass.) posted the top finish by a rookie in either meet with her fourth-place finish and time of 15:45, 18 seconds ahead of the Falcons' Evelyn Marrero (Amsterdam, N.Y.), also a first-year runner. Another large Brandeis pack, eight runners strong and led by rookie Kate Warwick (Boxboro, Mass.) in 16:18 iced the meet for the Judges.
