November 12, 2011 Warwick finishes 14th at regionals for women's x-country, earns spot in NCAA field By improving her spot 13 places and her time by more than a minute senior Kate Warwick will make her first NCAA championship appearance next weekend in Wisconsin.

June 6, 2011 Norton, Selig claim Capital One Academic All-District honors Honors continue to roll in for recent Brandeis graduates Paul Norton and Grayce Selig of the track and field and cross country teams. Both were named to the Capital One Academic All-District I teams as selected by the College Sports Information Director's Association (CoSIDA). Norton was a first-team honoree and will be placed on the ballot for Academic All-America honors, while Selig was a second-team selection.

September 18, 2010 Warwick, Brandeis men's x-c finish third at UMass Dartmouth Junior Kate Warwick had her best career cross country individual performance, finishing third at the 2010 UMass Dartmouth Shriners Invitational. Meanwhile, the 10th-ranked Judge men finished in third place by just six points despite running without several of their top performers.
September 3, 2010 Brandeis women's country defeats University of Southern Maine in season opener Two-time All-American Grayce Selig paced the 26th-ranked women's cross country team to victory in their season opener, 15-48, against the University of Southern Maine. The Judges had the top five finishers in the race, including newcomer Ali Kirsch who was part of the four-person pack behind Selig.
June 30, 2010 Announcing the 2010 Brandeis Fall Schedule! The Brandeis 2010 Fall Schedule has been released. Volleyball has the first home contest on Wed., Sept. 1, with cross country racing against Southern Maine at Weston High School two days later. Women's soccer hosts a four-team tournament that weekend, and the men open on a busy Sept. 11 weekend. May 12, 2010 Brandeis announces 2010 Departmental Award winners On May 6, the Brandeis Department of Athletics held its annual Student-Athlete Recognition and Award Dinner. Director of Athletics Sheryl Sousa and Dean of Students Rick Sawyer were on hand to give out awards to 10 different student-athletes. Read about the winners here!
November 21, 2009 Norton claims All-America honors with seventh-place finish at NCAAs Junior Paul Norton became the Brandeis men's cross country team's first All-American since 1999 today, finishing seventh overall out of 276 runners at the NCAA Division III championships in Cleveland. Norton helped the Judges to a 24th-place finish out of 32 teams.
November 14, 2009 Women's x-c places sixth, Selig, Alyssa Pisarik named All-New England Junior Grayce Selig and sophomore Alyssa Pisarik claimed All-New England honors today at the New England Division III women's cross country regionals. With a sixth-place finish, the Judges just miss out on making a trip to nationals, though Selig qualified as an individual.
October 31, 2009 Connolly earns All-UAA honors, women's x-country takes fourth Senior Ally Connolly had her personal best finish of the season and the best finish by any Brandeis runner since 2004 at the University Athletic Association cross country championships, placing 14th to earn second-team All-UAA honors. As a team, the Judges finished in fourth place.
October 10, 2009 Women's x-country takes 20th overall, 6th among D3 at Open New Englands Junior Grayce Selig was the women's cross country team's top finisher for the third time in four meets this season, placing 46th overall and 11th among Division III finishers at the 2009 Open New England Championships. The Judges were sixth among DIII schools and 20th overall out of 49 teams.
September 26, 2009 Women's cross country captures Conn. College Invitational With five of the top 20 runners, the 15th-ranked Brandeis women's cross country team won the Connecticut College Invitational. The Judges, led by junior Marie Lemay and sophomore Alyssa Pisarik, who finished fifth and sixth, bested runner-up RPI by 34 points.
September 24, 2009 Cross country teams earn national rankings For the second time in as many years, the Brandeis cross country teams have earned national rankings at the same time. On the strength of their performances at the UMass Dartmouth Shriners Invitational, the Brandeis women entered the poll at No. 15, while the men checked in at No. 21.
September 19, 2009 Women's x-country puts five in top 25, places second at UMass-Dartmouth With five of the top 25 runners and seven of the top 40, the Brandeis women's cross country team placed second out of 42 teams at the UMass-Dartmouth Shriner's Invitational. The Judges, led by junior Grayce Selig, finished ahead of 16th-ranked Colby and Stonehill, ranked No. 21 in Division II.
September 4, 2009 Women's cross country bests Bentley as Selig wins race for second straight year For the second year in a row, junior Grayce Selig was first across the finish line as the Brandeis women's cross country team defeated cross-town rival Bentley, 15-50. She was one of nine Judges to cross the line in a pack.

November 15, 2008 Women's x-country takes 13th at New Englands Sophomore Marie Lemay (Saco, Maine) improved by more than 60 places to help the Brandeis women's cross country team to a 13th-place finish at the New England Division III championships, up five places from 2007.
November 1, 2008 Alyssa Pisarik leads the way as women's x-country takes seventh at UAA championships Rookie Alyssa Pisarik (Chelmsford, Mass.) had her best performance as a collegian today, placing 22nd at the University Athletic Association championships in Atlanta. The Judges came in seventh as a team.
October 18, 2008 Women's x-country places eighth at Albany, second among DIII schools Led by sophomore Grayce Selig (Narberth, Pa.), the Brandeis University women's cross country team finished in eight place overall, but second among Division III teams, at the 42nd annual University of Albany Invitational.
September 25, 2008 Women's cross country cracks top 35 The Brandeis women's cross country team has earned their first national ranking of the season in the United State Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). The Judges are ranked 29th among Division III institutions.
September 23, 2008 Premo, x-country runners claim UAA honors, Sept. 22 Sophomore cross country runners Marie Lemay of Saco, Maine, and Paul Norton of Amherst, Mass., and senior forward Ben Premo of Florence, Mass., of the men's soccer team have been selected as the University Athletic Association Athletes of the Week for September 22.
September 20, 2008 Women's cross country comes in third at UMass Dartmouth The Brandeis women's cross country team excelled at today's UMass Dartmouth Invitational, as the Judges finished third out of 41 teams. Brandeis finished behind two nationally-ranked squads, including No. 1 Amherst, and two points ahead of 11th-ranked Colby College.
August 29, 2008 Selig tops the field as women's x-country tops Bentley Sophomore Grayce Selig (Narberth, Pa.) was the individual race winners today as the Brandeis women's cross country team defeated Bentley College at Weston High School. The Judges were 20-41 victors.
September 25, 2007 Brandeis named 2007 Jostens ECAC Institution of the Year Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Commissioner Rudy Keeling has announced that Brandeis University has been selected as the 2007 ECAC Jostens Institution of the Year. This award is presented annually to the ECAC institution that best exemplifies the highest standards of collegiate academics and athletic performance.

John Evans will begin his eighth season as head cross country coach and track and field in 2011-12.

A 1989 graduate of Providence College, Evans was a three-time Big East and IC4A champion in several events and an All-American in the 1,500-meter run. In the past eight years, he has helped Brandeis place seven individual athletes at the NCAA cross country championships. From 2008 through 2010, he guided both the men's and women's cross country squads to national rankings, with the men earning three-straight NCAA championship berths. Evans also helped coach nine University Athletic Association (UAA) Rookies of the Year - Mekonen Gendebo '11 in 2007, Marc Boutin '12 in 2008 and Ed Colvin '14 in 2010 for cross country; Ryan Parker ‘06 in 2003, Linda Kropp ‘07 in 2004, Geff Fauchet ‘08 in 2005, Anat Benun ‘09 in 2006 and Vincent Asante '14 - a two-time honoree in 2011 - for track and field.

Prior to coming to Brandeis, Evans coached at Providence, and with the Boston Running Club, Nike Boston and Team New Balance. Ten of his athletes have competed in the World Championships the Olympic Games and other international competition, including his wife Sinead, who represented Ireland in 1996 and 2000.
